Meet The GBPA team

                            AMANDA "COOKIE" COOK
Picture

I'm Amanda - aka Cookie! In the daylight, I work in healthcare staffing which I absolutely love. After dark - I become an avid ghostbuster. I have always had an interest in the topics most humans ignore. Ghosts, true crime, aliens, sasquatch...you name it - I am thinking about it. I spend most of my days that I am not creeping around haunted locations with the love of my life (my boyfriend of 14 years - Michael) and my two fur babies. Bjorn and Rousey - Rottweiler and wild mutt, respectively. They are my world.

There isn't one thing that brought me to the paranormal. I never really had para experiences when I was younger, I was just always drawn to it. My grandmother was a little witchy, so maybe that had something to do with it. I have always loved scary movies, and spooky stories. I decided one year that I wanted to volunteer for a haunted attraction during the Halloween season. I ended up applying to Ghost Ship Harbor in Quincy, MA. While "auditioning" for a scare-actor role in the haunted ship, I saw the paranormal team doing tours in a back room and instantly knew that is what I wanted to do. I had to "interview" with Don D the ghost boss, and I would say that I nailed it. He asked if I had a good personality, and I said I DON'T KNOW, I GUESS?!

In terms of my paranormal skills, I have been on the team and investigating for over 5 years now. I would call myself a novice still, because I think it's silly to call myself a pro at hunting ghosts. Who really knows! I have visited many famous and hidden haunted locations and primarily use my senses to investigate. A good ol' fashioned audio recorder, K-II meter, and myself is all I need! I would call myself sensitive - and I am still working on fine-tuning those skills every day.

Anyway, that's about all for me! I look forward to peering into the unknown for the rest of my life. And maybe after that, too ;)

With love,
Cookie
