The hand held cameras we use, both video and still frame, are all IR or night vision.
But the IR range of a camera can be somewhat limited, so we sometimes give them a little boost.
What you see to the left are the IR extenders we use on those cameras.
The type on the bottom is simple but effective. It increases a cameras range several times over. The drawback with this unit is that it has a very short battery life and needs to be recharged as opposed to simply changing out the battery.
The type above (showing you both the front and back of the unit) is more complex and more effective. Not only does it have a longer battery life, but the intensity, hence the range can be adjusted based on your location and your need.
As you can see both types are easily attached to almost all types of camera.
