What the hell is that?
It wasn’t that long ago I mentioned one of the people who inspired my interest in the paranormal, the late, great John Keel, in an article about time slips in the Ghost Hunting 101 section of this very website. In that article I refer to Mr. Keel as “Father of the Mothman” and recommend my favorite of his books, The Mothman Prophecies.
Just the other day I saw something posted on one of the odd websites I frequent that brought him to mind.
The Mothman Prophecies takes place mostly in the city of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Point Pleasant is located directly across the Ohio River from Gallipolis, OH, just about where the Kanawha River runs into the Ohio and is home to about as wide a variety of strange occurrences as you can imagine.
Among the UFO’s , environmental anomalies and haunted hotels, Mothman soars high above the rest.
Mothman began appearing in and around Point Pleasant in the mid to late sixties and quickly gained regional if not national notoriety. Sightings abounded.
