However there are times when you have to acknowledge that your equipment isn't up to the task and Ghost Ship Harbor 2017 was one of those times.
As a result of our extended tours it became clear that our old radios weren't going to cut it so we upgraded.
We're now using these Baofeng long range two way radios.
Not only is their range far longer, but they have no problem working amid the steel decks and bulkheads of a Heavy Cruiser.
It helps that in an emergency they have a built in high lumen flashlight...
