As most of you probably know from many, many movies, Portals are far from a new concept.
But in the paranormal community (I almost typed “but in reality…”) portals are a fairly controversial subject among those of us smart enough to acknowledge that nobody knows everything.
It’s agreed for the most part that a portal is considered to be doorway through which entities can travel, and that they are a location rather than being an entity in and of themselves.
Beyond that everything else is widely varied theory and speculation, and I can easily understand why.
Most people would say (since as I said we’re talking about a location) that portals are somewhat easily located because of their reoccurring appearance in stories about paranormal activity. The Bermuda Triangle for instance, or closer to home the Bridgewater Triangle.
The reason consensus pretty much comes to an end there is the wide variety of activity that can take place in a given portal location.
The obvious one when referring to the Bermuda Triangle are the many disappearances in that area. But a closer look tells you there are many more potentially paranormal incidents in that area. UFO activity, lights that seem to originate below the ocean’s surface (where many say that Atlantis is located), sea creatures that defy rational identification and weather anomalies are frequent in that area.
The same can be said on a somewhat smaller scale of the Bridgewater Triangle in Massachusetts.
As a result of the wide variety of activity the primary focus of debate is; A doorway to what?
An extraterrestrial world? Another dimension?
There are plenty of people who will tell you they know the answer, but alas I’m not one of them…
