Carrying a bag of salt during an investigation may seem kind of silly or too easy to be effective, but many investigators feel that doing so is an excellent way to absorb whatever negative energy that may be present at an
active location.

In reality, salt has been considered by virtually every culture in history at one time or another to have the kind of cleansing properties that lend themselves perfectly to paranormal investigation.

The method here is very simple.  Put some salt, most feel sea salt is best, into a cotton bag and tie the bag to your belt.  Don’t have a cotton bag?  Who does? 
A sock is perfectly fine and if all else fails put the salt in your pocket and carry it throughout the investigation.

Like some of the other things I’ve discussed there are variables here as well.

While some would suggest pouring the salt down a drain, others would say it needs to be buried.

Others say the purifying power of salt can be boosted by holding the bag in both hands prior to the investigation and saying something.  The words I’ve heard are“Salt absorb negativity, nothing shall do harm to me, with this I ever safe shall be, as I do will so mote it be”, but there are a thousand variations.
