This is an Olympus WS-852 Digital Voice Recorder.  This model is capable of storing up to 72 audio recordings in 6 separate folders with digital sound clarity.  It is used primarily to record EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) sessions in which investigators attempt to make contact with entities through various methods, the norm being questions and answers.
