These are basic wireless audio recorders.  In large locations where areas of potential activity are numerous, it is often necessary to monitor areas by all means at the team's disposal.  There are more complicated and much more expensive wireless audio systems but these are simple, inexpensive USB units.  The sound is digital quality.  They are downloaded by simply plugging them into a USB port on any computer and charged the same way.
